Default Cutting out

My XR cut out several times while riding today. 4 times within 6 miles. I was traveling around 60. It would cut out and feel like it was going to die then took off again.

It did the same thing on a ride New Years Eve day while I was traveling on a 4 lane about 70.

Any ideas.

Check your battery cables to make sure they're tight.

Default Tighted cables

I tightened the battery cables about 1 full turn and we rode 160 miles yesterday. No problem with cutting out all day long.

I do not get why a snug, not loose battery cable would have any effect of the ignition system whatsoever. I hope this solves the issue for good though.

Another thought if this is a the case. If the engine starts to cutout on a regular basis then this would mean that the battery is about to die to. Hmm....

Had an issue with mine awhile back, it actually died on me once. Found one of the O2 sensors? was loose in the front cylinder exhaust. Snugged her back down, hasn't happened since, almost a year.
