Default can I drill through tripl tree??

I bought four inch risers for my 2003 V92C. Unfortunately the riser studs provided aren't long enough. A second sized set they sent are long enough but diameter is larger than mounting holes on triple tree. Question is....can I drill those holes out to fit the riser studs? Or am I asking for trouble? Not sure what king of metal the triple tree is made of....aluminum maybe? Not having much luck finding the stud I need.

Drilled mine out 6 years back or so to put on different risers. No problems with that but the riser bolt that sheared off rolling down the freeway a few years back got my attention.

I milled mine out to 22mm to fit rubber bushes, no worries. There is plenty of meat there. I would suggest you use 12mm bolts or studs.

Thanks! That's what I wanted to hear. Now hopefully I wont have to change the clutch cable...looks like it may be close.
