Looking for a good builder
I live in Knoxville TN and am in need of some info from knowledgable sources. I ride a 2010 Cross Roads with hi flow air filter, unplugged o2 sensors, and modified stock pipes.
I am going to make some some changes to the bike in the next few months and need some input and info. I want to get some decent power out of the bike but do not really want to spend crazy money for it. The bike will not be a monster at the drag strip I just want a WAY better power to weight ratio.
Does anyone know a good engine builder in the Tennessee area? East Tennessee preferably.
I want to get a baseline dyne to see where the bike is now and then of course one at the end of the build to see where the bike is after all the tuning.
What I am thinking is new fuel management - Either PCV or VFC. I don't see the advantage of the auto tune in my case
Lloyds VM1-HP-DR cams
High compression pistons
I am also thinking about the upgraded clutch accessories lloyd sells just in case. I don't mind heavier clutch pull since I think the stock pull is really easy.
I would love the 116 c.i. bore but I think that the labor would make that a bit to much on the $$ side of life.
Anyone have recommendations on a shop in this area? I would love to do the work but I do not have the experience, space, or tools.
I really don't want to have to ship the bike across the country if possible but I do want to make sure the shop has a good reputation and won't over charge or screw up my bike.
Any suggestions to the build idea or shop are appreciated. I am not a real gear head so I am sure I am missing things. Feel free to state opinions on parts like PCV v. VFC if you have actual experience using them and sway me to your way of thinking.
I have not got a quote from anyone yet on this kind of work so if anyone has experience getting similar work done and wants to share the cost I would appreciate the info.
