Default Intermittent Low Beam

I know this sounds like a dumb question but does anyone know if a headlamp would have a thermal overload built in? I can't imagine it would. I am using a GP Thunder Plasma-White H11, 8500K/55W Quartz Glass Bulb for my low beam and it is cycling on and off. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to it. Most of the time it is on but it will occasionally go off for a minute or two. I know that it is most likely a loose connection somewhere but as of yet, I haven't found it. Maybe they are just cheap bulbs and not very reliable. The odd thing is a fairly new lamp blew out and the second one is cycling on and off. Anyone else have any experience with these GP Thunder's? I like the color they produce but they really need to work.

Probably a weak contact. Best way to test it is to go back to a stock bulb if you have one laying around, and see if that cures it. If it does, then trash those plasma bulbs and consider an HID kit. If it doesn't, then you have a lose contact somewhere and might need to dig a little deeper to solve it. Try the bulb before you spend too much time chasing the possible weak contact.

Please add your bike's year and model to your signature. Here's why.

Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

I ordered a HID kit from you last night after I posted this. Already have a shipping notification. Man you are fast! I really think the issue is with the lamps. You can get 2 of these lamps for $11. The first one has already blown with less than 750 miles on it and the second one is cycling. I might retry the stock lamp till the HIDs arrive.
