Hi All,

I have been reading up on threads and such on replacing my battery on the crossroads and just can not seem to find a clear answer.

Ride is a 2012 Victory CrossRoads that I have stored for winter twice with no issue. I commute daily to DC but during this winter/fall I was sick, had surgery, and 2+ week out of work recovery so it wasn't riding 2 months ish.

Looking for some suggestions on battery's that people have purchased or heard good things about, as I figure since I am replacing it I should go with something that will be a bit of an improvement.

Thank you,

Buy a battery tender and plug it in. You might have the plug on the battery all ready.

Just cause the bike has been setting for some time does not mean its bad.
Yes it might not have enough juice to start the bike but if you charge it then it will.

Once you have full charge in it go to auto store and ask them to load test it.

My original battery in my 08 vision I just replaced.
With a battery tender you can plug it in if your going to let it sit for some time. Mine sits for six month and is plugged in

+1 on what VJ posted. Unless you ride regularly, an automatic trickle charge will help to provide your battery with a long and useful life. There may be an SAE connector wired to your battery--take a look. That's what you'd connect the charger to.

What type of battery is the Extreme? AGM? Lithium?

When I am offshore I trickle charge my battery once a week, should be ok, BUT

After I came back (3 months), the Vic battery was ^&*^$ (bike is only 1 year old)

Anyway, took the battery out, went to the car-shops bought a Japanese battery and shoved it in there, runs like sunshine, no biggy

thumb up

say if you have a battery tender leave it plugged in. It will only keep a full charge in the batter and will not over charge it.
Like I said mines plugged in for 6 months straight

Owning a power sport with out a tender is crazy. Especially if the vehicle/Bike see's down time. VJ said it........ get a battery tender! My bike is ridden weekly still I keep it on a Battery Tender all the time. 3 bikes on tenders in my garage. All my batteries are over 5 yr's old and no start issues ever. Gave my Son one for Christmas.....They make great gifts for under $50.
