Default Top Lamp ??

Just finished removing and replacing my headlight and fairing (2012 Cross Country Tour) in order to tighten things up since my parking lot drop a couple of weeks ago. Now for my question....

whilst digging through the wires behind the light and fairing I came across one which made me stop and wonder. It was labeled "top lamp" and was not connected to anything else. Can someone tell me what the "top lamp" wire and connector are for? TIA.

Do you have both High & low beam right now? I believe that is how the headlight is labelled if I remember correctly. 2 separate connectors to the headlight.

I can tell you that if you plug the connector that you found into your high beam, which it seems to fit, your high beam will come on as soon as you turn the key on and your high beam switch will no longer turn your high beam on and off, don't ask me how I know.

There is a connector for the standard low beam and one for the HID low beam.
