Default Stator Upgrade

Everyone knows the 99 models have a weak stator in it. So here is my questions.
1 - Will the stator out of a 100 ci motor work in the 99 Hammer motor? I know I would have to change regulator too.

2 - Has anyone tried the ElectroSport Stator? link below:

I just want to upgrade and don't know the best rout. Mine is working fine, but would feel better with a little more juice. Any information would be great.

The ElectroSport stator you linked to is a replacement for the original 23 amp stator - they cite p/n 4060654, which is the original '99 stator. They do have the 38 amp stator for the later engines (listed as Part #: ESG798) which replaces OEM p/n 4010436.

As to the flywheel / rotor, the '99 uses p/n 3031005, while the 38 amp system on the '02-'06 92 CI Freedom engines uses p/n 3021197. My parts manual collection only goes up to '04, so I can't speak to the 100 inch engines.

I don't recall if the upgrade kit had rotor, stator, and regulator, but I'm inclined to think it did... You'd likely need all three components, in addition to the stator cup (a cup-shaped aluminum piece that serves to direct oil, IIRC - comes with the upgrade kit) and maybe a wiring harness adapter.

Well crap, I was hoping to go cheap, and get a used stator and maybe a used regulator. Oh well, time to save up more money I guess.

Yeah, you'll likely find the PITA factor in piecing it all together makes the kit a lot more tempting...

Unless, of course, you find someone parting out a bike with the 38 amp setup!

Yep, I guess I am going to have to find out exactly what parts are in the kit and see if I can find all of the parts. Thanks for the help. One last thing do you have the part numbers to the kit.
