Default Got my Thrush mod done - Part 1.

Took a few pics so will have a go at putting them up.

Part 1: As we know, the problem is that we need to get the red bit inside the black bit:

So into the bandsaw she goes:

Outlet end off:

Inlet end off:

The baffle assembly pulls right out:

Out she comes as neat as you like:

This ring at the inlet end is the perfect size for the 24201 to mount into:

Goes in there like it was made for it!

Making the small outlet into a big one:

That's better!

Part 3 to follow.

Time to start tacking it all back together:

Then finish welding right around. No laughing at my welding you blokes!

Now I need a couple of tail pipes:

Then it was just a matter of wire buffing the welds and applying some black VHT. I didn't bother cleaning up the welds because they're all covered by the heat shields and end tips anyway.

Fitted her all back together and this is now where the gasses escape:

All in all a pretty straight forward mod. The Australian market models must have different mufflers to the US ones because the Thrush 24201 slid straight in with room to spare. No need to force them in at all.

I'm very happy with the sound - it's exactly what I hoped it would be. Love it!

Russ.

You slid your factory baffles out, I'm guessing that's why your Thrush packs slid right in.
