Default Powder coated pulley

Went to the Vic Dealer. I have a belt with 12,000 miles on it. I have a powder coated pulley. He wants to put new belt, and wants an hour and a half of labor. Mentioned my pulley may be warped due to powder coating. Does this sound right. I thought belts lasted to 100k

Blame it on me

Depends on if it's the old style belt or one with kevlar in it. Either way there is no way the belt is done for at 12k and you can easily switch out the pulley if they provide one. I would get new pulley bolts too.

my xr says change the belt and pulleys at 30,000 miles. powder coating probably does get hot enough to warp a pulley when they bake it. doesn't mean it did, just possible i would think.
