Default Installing the Delicate Fork Guards on XCT

My wife snagged one of those dang chrome plastic fork protectors with the cleaning cloth when washing her XCT and snapped it right off. We bought another from Witchdoctors. My probably silly quesion is: How do you install it? Does it just press fit straight onto the fork - expanding the "wings" as it slides into place and then the wings close embracing the round fork? Or some other way?

G'day,

Vinish
