Default O2 Sensor and RC exhaust question

Last fall i had my dealer install the RC 4" slip ons as well as the PCV. I have read in a few places that people were disconnecting the O2 sensors. Can someone explain to the dumbass that i am why you would do that or should do it?

If you have a fuel controller there is no need to disconnect O2's. People do it when they add pipes to help richen the air to fuel tatio. Supposedly on the Vic's if you disconnect the O2's it runs a fair bit richer.
