Default 2011 Kingpin Dyno

I attended the AVR in Spirit Lake this summer. Guaranteed my wife will come with me next year as i did some shopping while there !

I went there to get my bike running better. I previously had an S&S intake installed and my bike ran like shit, pinging all the time. Well they said that they could fix that and then asked me what else i wanted done - well i made the mistake of asking what could they do - WELL !!!

I had Kyle from KMC perform some mods and run a dyno. Mods were Lloyd's Torque tubes/Lloyd's VM1DR Cam/ATG/AIV/PC-V/short turn throttle/Unplug O2's. Kyle and his crew are amazing and so knowledgeable on Vic's. This was definitely the place to get things done as my home dealer is just new to Vic's.

I am not sure what the actual stock #'s are for my bike, but now it is 96 HP and 111 torque. It was rather warm the day we did the Dyno, and i know that can effect the #'s.

However, the difference is WTF and better hold on!

I do have some issues - one - the low HP vs Torque. There is apparently more HP available to me if i change my pipes from the X-bow's to a two into one system. But, I really like the looks of the X-Bow on my KP.

I have looked at the RPW Big slash as an alternative or possibly the RPW Thor. But, i am not sure what the gain would be and which will give my the added performance to change ?

Half Crazy, would like your comments on this as Kyle said you have a Thor on your KP i believe.

I am also concerned with how loud they will be. I use to have V&H Straight shots on my Mean Streak and they were loud all the time. Don't get me wrong i like loud pipes on WOT, just not while cruising.

Two - while i enjoy the added performance, i have dropped gas mileage big time 10-15 mpg depending on wind and my right hand. I am hoping Kyle can help me out with this. Switching pipes may also help.

Three - i do get some more popping and sometimes when bliping the throttle on down shifts i get pops from the Torque tubes. I have not talked to Lloyd on this yet.

Any comments or questions are welcomed.

Yup, the way it lays over at 4500 indicates a pipe killing things

I'm not an asshole...I just type that way

Thanks Kevin
Have you had any experience in the RPW pipes?

Any idea of the HP/Torque gain by putting on the two into one?

Yes, you picked up quite a bit of power and I'm sure it feels a lot different.

It's just math... HP = TQ X RPM / 5252 all day every day. Looking at the graph, it is rolling over after 4600 rpm. If I had to guess, it's because the exhaust has catalytic converters and they are restricting flow at high RPM. The problem is it's already tuned to that restiction...

The RPW Big Slash is louder, expecially on decel. The Thor is quiet at idle and cruise, only gets loud when you're in the throttle hard. With a good pipe (no cats) you should be over 102 HP. Torque may only come up a little at peak but will carry out farther to the right. You have a very strong bike at the low end and midrange. It makes the power where ya need it. What do you do with the bike? Are you willing to buy pipes and re-tune it to gain 6 HP at the top of the tach? Only you know what's right for you. You can sell the X-Bow pipes and get a bit of it back.

I would imagine you are enjoying the power and running it differently than before. When you just ride "normally" it may not be different at all. Get your hand out of the throttle body, LOL

Do you have the IAV from Lloydz? Maybe that would help.

HC
I really like the low/mid torque and do not want to loose that. However, i may take it to the track next season - just for the fun of it.

With these mods, while i did expect the extra performance. i had no idea that it would change the way the bike feels. It shifts smoother both up/down, runs free, is more responsive and is just a blast to ride. Love the KP

Life is a series of compromises....

If you take it to the track like it is, shift at 5600.
