Default Cost of dyno tuning/custom map?

I contacted a place about dyno tuning my bike after I make some add ons, intake, exhaust, and a pcv, what is a ballpark figure that some of you have paid? They are asking a little over $300.

currently bikeless

It seems that often buyers are buying more than "just' the tune from their Dyno guys so the actual amounts get mixed up. However, most appear to charge between $200 & $300 depending on the tuner you are using. If it's something they are familiar with and have a lot of experience, I have heard of $150 but most are right around $250.

Where are you located at? Someone on here might be able to guide you to a good resource close near you.

For tuning the bike, around here, is about $200-300.00. So, price wise, your place is in the ballpark. The experience and expertise of the tuner is what's really important.

You say PCV if your spending the money on the power comander and the self tuner why do you need a dyno.
The self tuner will tune your bike as you ride so what more is there.
Do a search here for maps and go from there

You may want to re-read his post. He didn't say that he was planning on making any additional changes later that would warrant the additional expense of a self/auto tuner option.

He never said he bought or even had any plans to spend an additional $399 (retail) on a the PC auto tuner. Rather, it sounds like he would rather use those $'s to go towards a more exact Dyno tune. Personally, that would be his BEST option as it will give him the MOST ACCURATE configuration that doesn't require any on-going changes.

Custom mapped, one cylinder at a time, by KMC Powersports.... $250

While I was waiting for Joe's bike to get tuned I had a quick throttle installed, so that added $60 for the part and labor to the bill. Joe felt the throttle and said "Me too!".

That was... without a shadow of a doubt... the best $310 I ever spent. Gas mileage went from 38 to 45 average, so the tune will pay for itself in 18,000 miles just from fuel savings. Plus the smiles per mile are doubled. AND the quick throttle is just what the doctor ordered.

I paid just shy of 600 bucks. (welcome to Canada) Altho I can take it in and get it tweaked anytime I feel like for a beer or two.

I had mine dyno tuned by kyle for $150 and he made a bit of adjustiments to my loyds tuner ..

I just looked it up again, its speed performance plus that I contacted, they are based in SD I believe, and have a mobile dyno that travels around also. This is what he said they would do, I need to have the pcv installed then they can tune for me.

"adjust fuel and timing every 250 rpm, every mph, in every gear, takes about an hour. The bike will be spot on and run as good as it can with the components you have on it."

To me that doesn't sound to bad then compared to what you others have had done. I will check around some more, but I don't know of to many places within reasonable distance from me who can do this.

Just make sure they tune each cylinder independently. I've seen before where they do one cylinder, then copy those setting to the other. Won't be as good that way.
