Default ignition timing

Although this article is not motorcycle related it does have some valid points..and you may want to ease off on your timing wheel

.AutoSpeed - Getting the Ignition Timing Right.

it also reminds me of something one of our ausie car tuners said (ls chev) mean best torque is made 2 degrees before knock .but depending on the vehicle you may have 2 deg of knock before you even hear it..(automotive so liquid cooled ie quieter engine)..
so if you hear pinging/knock you may need to pull 4 deg from that point.when a engine knock its like someone beating down on the pistons with a hammer.
anyway have a read..

rpw thor, wiseco fuel control.
Torque tube intake,
Wilbers shock, gold valve emulators ,
Batwing ,cruise control.

I just scanned that article. The end result is that miscellaneous factors affect timing but as long as there is no ping it will be fine.

Default auto speed = good stuff

lots of good articles from auto speed! got interested after i bought my first turbo'd car. as noted there is a LOT of varying factors that influence engine pinging or not!!!
