Default Repair or replace

So my 2004 kingpin had a bit of a hiccup. The transmission is completely gone. I'm just looking for an opinion from someone who knows a little about them would you put 2000 down to fix the engine or try to find an engine to swap? And if I do swap the engine would it be possible to upgrade to the 106? I see several of them on ebay for around 3000 so Just looking for opinions would you replace or repair

I think you should dig into the details. The swap might be the nicer option, but how much more money it takes, depends on the additional parts needed for the swap. Swaps can get tricky and expensive if too many additional parts are necessary to complete it. Otherwise, If its an easy plug n play into the older frame then go that route.

I have learned that nothing is as easy and simple as it seems. Its worth doing some serious homework before you commit.
