I rogered up for one from a large autoparts chain two years ago. Before buying, I researched back to the US manufacturer, IIRC one of two mass-producing them for powersports/motorcycles.
The literature inside the box referenced the need to trickle charge with a lithium-suitable charger on a periodic basis. I didn't do so, and the battery seemed to be all done (slow starts, not no starts) at 14 months (12 month warranty).
I say seemed to be, because the new replacement is not performing better than the one I brought in. The bike's charging system etc was checked and rechecked at the dealer. So, I suspect the spread in quality of batteries is as wide as was referenced in the recent 'hard start' thread.
One of the reasons that I liked it, and bought another, was the fact that it made a significant difference at first light-off, particularly in cold whether. The lithium batteries don't carry a lot of reserve, but the first discharge tends to be stronger than that from lead acid.
Ah jeez, just re read and realized I forgot to get my 'thinker skin' IAW post 59...
