Default Error code 168

Been getting a check engine light, comes on after been riding for a while and goes out about a minute later. No noticeable change in running conditions. Gives me an error code of 168. Anyone have any ideas?

You don't say what model bike you have
Silly as it maybe have you check your battery cables for being tight

Error 168 is the code for low system voltage. This could be a weak battery, an alternator going bad, or simply battery not making good contact. I would start with ensuring the battery connections are tight.

I have to agree with what visionjohny said. Please add year and model of your bike, so we don't have to ask in the future (add it to your signature; here's how to do it: https://www.victoryforums.com/showthread.php?t=3511 ) and check your battery cables to ensure they are tight.

Please add your bike's year and model to your signature. Here's why.

It is a 2012 Cross Roads. Like I say it goes back off after about 60 seconds.

code 168 is system voltage high-system voltage above allowable limit. you should have a bad voltage regulator. its not unusual, a easy fix and yes warranty will cover if you still have factory or extended warranty left. victory is on their 3rd or 4th different regulator now , they know they have a problem and are trying to fix it.

With the shunt regulator used by Vic. A loose battery will trigger an overcharge. first thing is always to check the basics

Thanks, I'll check the cables and have the dealer check the regulator since I still have 4 more years left on my warranty.

You better do your warranty work while the regular (not the extended) warranty is in place. The extended usually has a $50 deductible. The sooner you solve/fix your issue, the better.

Not to hijack, is that the way the warranty works? Looks like he got his bike same time I did when they were running the promotion of 5 year warranty. So the last 4 has a deductible?

Sneaky salesmen forget to mention the details of the extended warranty, but they are outlined in the docs they give you at the time of purchase, including the deductible amount. And yes, they include a deductible, which decreases the cost of the extended warranty, which also makes the extended warranty useless for cheap, simple fixes.
