Default Slip On Performance

Are slip on exhaust pipes worth the money spent compared to just taking the baffles out of the stock pipes ? And which brand of slip-on's are the better ones to buy ? I had RUSH 2 into 1 on my last bike which was a Harley.

You have many options for your CCT. I put over 45K miles on a set of TriOvals on my CCT. The TriOvals are/were made by Cobra and they sounded better and better as the miles rolled up. About 9K miles ago I bought a set of Raging Cajun Medium Low & Throaty from Dave who frequents the vog forum. I don't know why he isn't on this forum. Anyway, his screen name is crosscountryla over their. Dave takes your oem mufflers and will make them into whatever sound you're after. He bought about every muffler available from every name brand or other independent (garage) maker you could name. He knows how each one works and how to improve on them. He will ask you a bunch of questions about your current, potential, and planned bike modifications as well as what type of sound you're looking for. He's also one of the nicest and knowledgable people you could hope to talk to about Victory mufflers. Contact him over their, send him your phone number and when he calls you, have time to talk because he likes to. Oh, and he will charge you less than anyone else, bar none. After the Lloyds variable timing wheel, Dave's Medium Low & Throaty could be the best money I spent on my CCT. Especially if bang for the buck is the standard.

All the best,

Mark

Thanks Mark... I'll give him a shout. And we need to get together and ride the twists on Monteagle Mountain sometime. You'll like it. My son and I do it all the time and we know all the back roads up that way. IF you haven't already done that.

It is more about then making noise. There is a lot of technology involved in making a proper exhaust system. Why I believe I have the Best sound and performance.

Thanks SemperVee but not at $800 for V&H pipes.... I can do a lot of other improvements for that kind of money. IMHO

That is true about the money. You might find a used set of pipes then for a decent price. If I were to sell mine I would ask for about $550 - $600 with shipping. Have no idea what guys in their garage are charging price wise to stuff in a set of cherry bomb or other muffler baffles and re welding. While it may sound better the performance is not the same as factory made for the engine breathing/timing/cam profile. It would still have the open unchromed black mufflers rusting just like the stock ones. The V&H unlike stock are closed and chromed entirely like the more expensive $900 Tri ovals, etc. Just food for thought. Good luck.

If you are just looking for slip-on's, I highly recommend Atom Bombs, great sound and great performance on my Cross Roads Classic. You buy their mufflers that have their modified baffles for $350. Once you receive them, you send them your mufflers and you will get $150 core refund. link: B & E Performance Custom American made modified Harley Davidson exhaust muffler Super Flow Mufflers Products
Yes I know it says Harley, but just scroll down to the bottom of their page and you will see Atom Bombs for Victory

Another good sounding performance slip-on muffler is Big Honkers from Arlen Ness, last time I checked they were on sale for $249.95 at Arlen Ness.

Good luck

If you like the sound of Atom Bombs (Find on YouTube) that is a great deal $$. Then listen to V&H.... Buy what talks to you. Getting what you want at the best price.
Not buying on price alone. That is what matters.
