Default Magnum ecm flash tuners

Good day people to start off I've contacted the two main ecm flash tuning device company's for victory's. Reason for calling and asking is one shows a list of available tunes and the other dose not. I asked them both the same questions about my bike an if they have a starter map/tune for the upgrades I've done to my motor, both company's told me no they don't reason being that the magnum has three different ecm's, not physically different software is different and that they have not had any magnums go through there [test tune/map building] that have had cam's,air filter an exhaust upgrades etc (hard to be leave). But we do have a stock stage 1 tune for each of the three model ecm's for the magnum an if you by our tuner and wideband setup that map will be good starting point (hmm really).

Now it gets interesting the first one says to me if you buy our product's at a cost of 1000$+ bucks when your ready to tune contact our tech support and they will assist in building you a map from your log files. Or we know a tuner that will tune your bike over the internet for a price an they have a large data base of map's. I though then why the F_*k would i pay a third party to tune my bike when you told me you'll assist me in building a map at no extra cost. I thanked them and that was that.

Know for the second flash tuner on there web page under the product search for my bike that there are several maps available for different engine upgrades but yet when i called them they said they dont have any tunes besides stock stage 1,

In the back of my mind then why would they have a list of tunes listed when i looked up the tuner for my bike year an model I'll tell ya why some people would not call to confirm they have a map for there bike an just purchase it thinking there going to get a good starter map from what the sales page advertises wrong they got your cash an when it marries to your bike and you find there is no map now its to late. So at this point you have the choice to purchased the wideband setup and have there tech's help u build a tune or find a dyno shop that works with there product.

So I said to them well you advertise that you offer starter maps/can tunes for all kinds of different upgrades cam's,intake, exhaust etc they answered yes for other vic models, other models i said your sales page has them listed under my bike. I said to them you guys got a great scam going on your like every other company out to fu*k the consumer.

I wrote this thinking maybe this info will help the unsuspected consumer from buying direct from the manufacture and purchase there flash tuner from a reputable tuner that backs there advertising up 100 percent.

Now some of u mite think I'm whacked but i have purchased both of the ecm flash tuners an wide band setups for my own testing purposes one direct from manufacturer and the second one from a reputable tuner. So in my first setup of the first tuner i did several log run's contacted tech and they remote logged in an changed the some of the tables when i asked why the map still had very prominent peaks and valleys he says thats normal i thought you know jack shit an disconnected him and that was the end of that. Yanked there shit off my bike an hooked up the second tuner my god what a difference easy pleasy so much more user friendly. Now a bit of disappointment i sent in for my map and this is what i got in return.

Hello, (the company) has not yet developed in-house maps for the Victory Magnum. For fuel maps for your application you will visit http://www._____.com/ and you can download the appropriate _ _ _ _ tune files.
If you need any assistance you are welcome to contact us and we are more than happy to help with any tuning or required support.

So I replied

Hi Name sad to here that & _ _ _ _ _ does not have any maps for my bike just the stock stage 1 tune that matches my ecu. If I sent there stock tune to you that matches my bike's ecu would u guys be able to adjust the map against any other 106 tune u mite have that has basically the same mods I do, so I have a starting point when i run the wideband setup.

No Reply little disappointed

So now I have found a reputable Dyno guy that has decades of experience with all kinds of tuning from carb's to ecu tuning. He has been using both tuners on Harley's but has not tuned a victory so i explained to him what i have an in our talks we are going to use my bike as a guinea pig and he is going to tune my bike on both unit's going to take sometime as he is booked solid for a month and with my work my time is limited once we get started an we are both satisfied i will spread the finding's for all members to review. Then fellow vic riders in Ontario will have a place to have there bikes dynod with either tuner.

Okay, a whole lot of words were used in the OP, but I still have no idea what tuner was the problem and what tuner worked out.

Can someone condense this down for me please?

My money is the Maximus and its on his profile. Really the closest apple to apple. Maybe he has a class action lawsuit on both and cant come right out and tell us which one? By the time I get to the performance stuff I hope both sides can stream line the process. I agree spending $1000 and getting an amature on the phone that cant teach or wont...poor internet support is not what we want to pay for. Some software companies will package an hour of phone support minutes after spending $250. After that the customer pays up for phone answers. If this is unacceptable to create then dont sell the product. If its unacceptable to deal with then dont buy the product. Plain and simple.

Well one of them is staffing support with mindless amateurs. Plus its a new product. Personally I would like to hear more about his experiences with these two companies. How much do you want to bet the " support rep " didnt try to contact the customer and work with him. Esp after spending $1000.
