Victory Hammer electrical problems.
Guys and gurus, here's one for you....
Bike runs fine, but coming back from a ride at dusk the other day, I noticed that my headlight was off.... I must admit that I haven't checked my lights and signals lately like I normally do before a ride.
Soooo, I checked again today and headlights don't work, brake light doesn't work and neither do front or rear turn signals.
So I checked 20amp fuse and it was burned... so that's easy I thought... found my spare fuses and replaced... turned ignition and the fuse blew immediately?!?!?
So I thought there's a short somewhere. Only thing I did to this bike myself, was the turn signal mirrors last year. So I removed the headlight bucket, disconnected the 2 mirrors and replaced the fuse.... blew again... so reconnected the signal/mirrors.
Removed the seat to see if there would be an obvious short somewhere and couldn't find anything. The rear light and side license plate light work fine, but no reaction when I press the brake.
The battery terminals were loose and I thought I might have found the culprit.... nope... blew another fuse.
My motorcycle electrical knowledge is very limited and don't know where to look. I cannot figure out what could have changed or happened that would have caused this, other than the fact that I tried disconnecting the O2 sensors out of curiosity to see if it would eliminate a little popping.... and it didn't change anything, so I reconnected them...
So no clue, please help.
I chose this Victory Hammer instead of a BigDog pitbull cause the BigDogs are known for their electrical problems...
