Default Bars moved..

Ok so, I installed new risers from eBay. Torqued the caps to 18lbs as per vic manual. Well, i went to lift myself up going over a bump in the road and the bars rotated down on me.

Is it crappy risers or should just torque em down more?

Are the bars or risers knurled? You may need to put some texture in there to get some bite. Or make some shims out of pop/beer can and put in the risers around the bars. I have done both and they both work.

If the risers are chrome they may start to peel from there. I would do the shims. Or take one cap off, and strike the area on the bars where the cap covers with a center punch a couple times. Then do the other side. But the shims are quick and easy too. Just cut a couple little squares of pop can and put between the riser and bars.

It sounds like a poor fit to me.You probably should consider the aluminum shims to get a better fit.
