Default Issues on throttle deceleration

I have an '05 Vegas that whenever I let go of the throttle or decelerate without engaging the clutch, the bike will "lurch" or jerk forward. It's almost like when you let the clutch out in a gear that largely mis-matches your speed, the bike with jerk and lurch until you select a gear that properly matches your speed. This happens every single time I decelerate or let off the throttle, and makes for a very uncomfortable and unsmooth ride. Other than that, the bike seems to work just fine, no issues.

Any ideas ?
