Default Check Engine Light 2008 Kingpin

Yesterday when leaving work I got out to the main road and laid on the throttle. Switching to 2nd gear I went to hit the throttle again and just got engine whine. This happens a couple times a week maybe, shifting into 2nd gear and the bike goes to neutral. Anyway maybe a 1/4 mile down the road the check engine light came on. I pulled over and shut the bike off. I turned it on and the light was off. I got back on the road and it came back on. Now any time I get going around 2k to 25K rpm the light comes on. I stop and it goes off. Today I checked the oil and it is full. Just changed maybe 1500 miles ago. I checked the battery without the bike running and with it running. While running voltage was pretty much a steady 14.55V. Tomorrow I am gonna check the operation of the clutch switch. Other than that I don't know what to check next. The bike runs as it always has. There may be a little less torque but I am really not sure about that. I probably need to check the spark plugs but not sure if they would cause an engine light. I don't know what resistance to read when checking the O2 sensors.

If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate the help. This is the only vehicle I have available to me right now. My Jeep is down and my lawn tractor is broken. All three are making me broke. LOL

Sounds like the battery may be going bad. What was your voltage with nothing turned on? Should be at least 12 volts. Also check and make sure your battery terminals are clean and tight. As far as missing a shift make sure the shifter linkage is lubed. And read up on oil choices in the search window. Many have moved to Amsoil 10w40 full synthetic oil for wet clutches. It made mine shift smoother. What oil are you using?

Sorry it has taken so long to reply. On Thursday I was checking the battery and connections. I found a lose connector coming from negative terminal. I wiggled it a couple of times and it broke. I changed connectors and tightened everything back up. I saw a fuse holder a little further down on the same wire so I checked. It was blown. It is a 3 amp fuse but don't know what it goes to anyway I took off and the engine light came on again. On my way home after about 20 miles the light went out and didn't nor come back on. I stopped and got gas, restarted bike and light didn't come back on.

Yesterday I had appointment with my heart doctor and I was admitted into the hospital. That is why I haven't replied yet, and I haven't been able to see if it is really fixed.

I do not know what that 3 amp fuse goes but it looks like something aftermarket. I will trace wires when I get a chance.
