Default remove side mount lic plate

I need to remove the side mount lic plate bracket on the left side. Can I just loosen up and remove or do i need to readjust the tension on the belt and all that?

You should be able to just take the nut off and put it back on. The belt adjustment shouldn't change unless you mess with the adjuster screws. Just mark or note the position on the adjustment and make sure it's in the same spot when you tighten it back up.
