Thumbs up 1/4 Turn ring / stiff throttle?

I recently installed the ring on my bike; '08KPT w/ Vic heated grips.
On closing the switch housing, the throttle went stiff, particularly on return.
I was prepared to do a little cable rigging already, and had watched the video; so there was knowledge of vague grinding that may need to be done in the housing..........what I found was the throttle cable sheath ends were too long and were hitting the ring. Dremeled off about 5mm and good to go.
I don't know how other years and models are set up, but on mine- with the 3 screws and bottom housing plate removed, the guides and ring are easily visible....sorry, no pics taken.
I haven't come across this anywhere else, hope this helps somebody.

Default throttle adjust

either the push or pull adjuster under the tank will add tension unless something is tight. the vid said a little sanding may be necessary if it don't rotate well. i had problem getting play on my 13 hammer, almost adjusted one to the end. a search my bring it up either here or the other Vic forum. checked my notes pull cable, whichever one it is gives more snapback, i just played until it worked.
