Default Turbos on Victorys

Does anyone here have any first hand experiance with turbos on Victorys?

I watched the mission 200 clips with Lloyd working with one on the custom bult 116" motor and all the other goodies I'm sure went into it. I started looking at some of the companies that claim to make turbos for ZVictorys and all I could really find were Trask and Areo. Neither one seem to really make as much power as a turbo should especially for the price they want.
For the performance shown on the companies dyno charts it looks like Lloyd actually makes more with his naturally aspirated motors.

Looking for some input from anyone with experiance...

Search for "turbo" and you should get a few hits. I doubt anyone has tried it with a Cross bike (or a Vision) because of the uniques problems you would have with routing the pipes and getting the air into the engine. The Cross bikes and the Vision all have cast frames and the filter housing is built into the frame. In order to get air in from an outside source (turbo or supercharger) you would have to be able to figure out how to route the air in between the tank and the frame. Anything can be done if you have enough money...

IMO you'ld be better off going big bore and getting some head work / cams. You would have half the nightmare and a lot less expense.

On a Cross-Dresser, you could easily have 120-125 naturally aspirated HP and it would be relatively inexpensive to get. Believe me, for a daily ridden street bagger that's PLENTY.

Not for the X-Bikes yet, but the advantage to the turbo kit is it comes complete. You won't need pipes, airbox, & FI controller. The intercooled version is around $5,600 and they claim 146 HP/170 TQ. I spent considerably more that that to get mid 130s on HP and around 140 on TQ. If you did a lttle headwork, and the right cams... in addition to the turbo... it would appear you could see well over 160 HP and still have spent substantially less that I did.

Turbos spin astronomically high RPM and the exhaust running thru them gets them really hot. The turbo has a relatively short lifespan before it will need to be rebuilt/replaced. They don't live forever. Turbo bikes sound funny too. Tuning a turbo bike is a lot more challenging as well.

Everything is a compromise. I would ask myself these questions:
How much power do I REALLY need?
How much money am I willing to spend?

If I were to go turbo, the Aerocharger looks like a better thought-out system (not for the X-Bikes).

When searching I saw and understand why Turbos are not out for the cross bikes. I was throwing around some ideas and honestly I like the idea of a naturally aspirated motor.

that video demonstrates nicely the beauty of turbos on bikes vs. cars. significantly smaller charge space volume in the piping + right-sized turbo = very little lag. you can hear how quickly the turbo responds to throttle opening. must feel more like a blower on the road...

The Aerocharger intercooled kit is reported to provide instant boost... there's a fan on the intercooler that comes on at 2 lbs of boost. You will want to pipe the air cleaner to a better location... no biggie.

The Trask kit looks kind of like an afterthought just hanging on the side.
