Default Low cost mods + PCV?

Hello Team:

Some questions.

New owner here. Being with the bike (2013 CC Sunset Red) for exactly a month and so far 1400 miles in the odometer.

Will like to make the bike louder without expending in new mufflers. Planning to do the mods mentioned on:

1. Replace air filter with a high flow washable filter.

2. Remove foam strip under tank for air intake.

3. Disconnect O2 sensors

4. Drill a 1-1/8" hole in the plate approximately 18" from the outer end of the pipe.

1- With just the mods mentioned above will I still benefit from installing a PCV?

2- Will the PCV work with just the mods mentioned above?

I am not looking for extreme power, I just want the bike to be louder. Being upshifting at around 3500 RPM's. At around 4000-4200 RPM's the bike feels like is not "breathing" right, hard to explain.

Besides the 1 - 1/8 hole in the inner plate, if I also drill holes on the sides of the exhaust, will this affect the performance of the bike?.

best bang for buck, timing wheel , if your going to do the filter get lloydz, dont bother with the other one, to me drilling the baffle was a waste of time and ended up with glasspacks, pcv and at or pcv and dyno will help even a stock bike.

Ditto that! I left my XCT in stock condition for the first year. I did unplug the O2 sensors. I was disappointed that my Vulcan 900 had more zip ( I do have a hi-flow air intake, open pipes and a fuel controller on it...but for cryin out loud...the Vic has double the cc's). The engine always felt like it was holding back. The Lloydz ATS at $142 cured that sluggish take-off and woke her up. Now I'm ready to add some more upgrades. Only problem.....well, like Van Halen says....I can't drive 55. It's too easy to go fast, because the Vic is such a smooth ride. Rolled onto the interstate last night from the ramp and when I looked down she was in triple digits. Oops! Sooner or later that's gonna get me in trouble. Spend the $142, you'll be impressed with the big performance difference for that much money.

i did the same thing, then had to ditch a cop , not sure what 110 in a 65 would be in MN for a ticket, but wasnt going to find out either!

It looks like careless driving. They will plead the fine down. But the insurance company will make a fortune.

Hello Team:

Last night did steps 3 & 4 (Disconnect O2 sensors and drill a 1-1/8" hole in the plate approximately 18" from the outer end of the pipe).

I also drill 5 (1/4") holes on the side. No idea if that will be louder. I took a video of before and after the drilling but still trying to figure out how to post them on-line. The bike sounds a bit louder at idle. Still need to try it on the open road.

Trying to drill the hole with Lenox 1 - 1/8 hole saw from the outlet didn't work. the hole-saw does not go all the way to the plate. seems like on the inside it goes narrow. Remove the pipes and drill from the inlet side and it was more easy.

Any idea how to remove foam gasket for the air filter? I don't feel comfy removing the gas tank.

Yes I have see it before. How do you remove it? Seems like some parts are welded to the walls of the muffler.

Finally was able to take the bike for a test ride last night.

The sound is NOT loud at all. (perhaps I am becoming deaf?). I can only hear the engine from 4000RPMs and above. Very little backfiring on deceleration and that was only at the beginning.

Thinking about drilling the side holes all the way trough the other side trough the inner core and baffles and see if that makes it louder.

1 - How do I know how leaner is the bike running?

2 - If I add the Hi-Flow Lloydz filter will that make the bike leaner?

3 - How can I make it "richer" with out adding a PC-V?
