Default 800 Miles and Suddenly, No Start.

I rode up to Saratoga Springs yesterday (75 miles round trip), parked the bike last night and this morning, it wouldn't start. Cranks fine, but does not catch or fire. Dealer is sending a truck in the morning.

Considering that this bike is brand new, but 4 years old, I'm wondering if the fuel pump or perhaps rubber pieces are reacting to age and ethanol content.

Anyone familiar with this sudden problem? It was running fine and was just filled with Mobil Premium yesterday morning. Also, I shut off and turned on kill switch as instructed in the manual to prime a starved engine; no change. Thx.

If you can hear the pump prime when you turn the key on pump is fine if you can't, well...it's dead.
That's what happened to me anyways.

That's what happened to me anyways.
Nope.....You can hear the pump, and have it bypass the regulator. Same results....No start

Default Not sure I heard it....

When I tried to start it this morning, I first had to un-kill the kill switch (couldn't find neutral last night), then, hit the start switch. When it didn't fire, I "primed" it by turning on and off the kill switch, as instructed in the manual. But I do NOT recall hearing the ticking when I turned the kill switch off--only when I engaged it (killed it).

So, this afternoon, I went over and made sure the kill switch was not active, turned on the ignition and got the same results, and that includes the clicking chatter that occurs when you turn on the ignition. So, unless it is acting intermittently, I'd guess the fuel pump is working OK.

I'm not sure that I understand the second rather cryptic comment about bypass the regulator...did you leave a word out there?

Nothing left out. Just because you can hear the pump. It does not mean that you have enough fuel pressure to run the bike. Check the pressure with a gauge.

Lightbulb Dead Fuel Pump; 2 into 1 to be installed

My dealer reports today that they found the fuel pump to be defective; a new one should be installed tomorrow.

While it was there, I decided to risk aural hari-kari and have the Stage 1, 2 into 1 Victory pipe installed. I've never heard one so it will all be a surprise. Now it will be a dead wringer for Spiderman's recently traded HamS--Very handsome: http://gallery.me.com/kinghouse1#100...&bgcolor=black

FWIW, the dealer passed along to a Victory VP my concern for their canceling 49-state pipes, yet NOT producing the 50-state Tri-power pipe for earlier-model application. Seems counter-productive to me if all it needs is some firmware writing.
