Default Best 06 Jackpot Performance Upgrades

Hey guys I've read all over this forum about S&S air boxes, cams, etc. I just want to know is the S&S airbox the best way to go? And will I need another calibration after the install? How much of a gain will this be? I currently have Slash Ness exhaust that was installed previously before I purchased the bike. And it has K&N airfilter also installed. I can not tell if the calibration has changed but I can tell you it runs good with no popping of the exhaust. I love the way it runs now but want alittle more. (My wife is not happy about this). Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Some recommend the Lloyd's torque tubes.
I don't know anything about the Torque Tubes, but I do know when I installed my S&S and got the download it made a huge difference in seat of the pants power. I would bet 15 to 20 HP. It may be a bit lower, but definitely one of the best bang for the buck add ons I have done IMO.

Alright, I've done many different combo's on that year and can truythfully say the best bang for the buck mod is S&S 'box, 92/5 cams, and advanced cam gears.
Now there are other combos that make more power, but if you want the most drivability, noticeabilty, and least amount of money spent this is it!
I recommend the 05 Hammer map, or an 05 S&S map, but no other fuel controller needed. $485 in parts plus labor.
Here is more detail and comments from several people whom I've done this mod for: http://forums.******.com/bb/forums/t...sts=35&start=1
I do the cams gears on an exchange basis for those that are interested.....

Hey thanks alot!! What kind of gains could be seen just with the S&S air box with new mapping as compared to airbox and cams? What exactly is the 92/5 cams? And is that $485 with the calibration?

The airbox alone can be worth 20HP. The 92/5 cams are the stock cams from the 02-05 bikes, they perform better than the 06-07 cams especially when teamed with the advanced gears.

I like the 92/5 cam because it's a great cam that isn't too big. That cam with the advanced gears really brings the SNAP back into the throttle response. It also helps bring back some low-end that's lost with the open airbox.

I think the customer feedback says it all!

The $485 includes the download too. You just pay the labor.

Just out of curiousity how much torque is lost with the S&S intake as compared to stock intake? I do have the slash ness exhaust which I dont know if thats bad or good for horsepower/torque ratings. I've seen on this forum lots of exhaust modifications perform worse that stock. Hopefully this exhaust isnt one of them.

Properly tuned and using the S&S map. The torque loss is insignificant. With either the 92" cams with advance gears, or S3 cams. You will be kicking over 90FtLb at 2500, and peak in the low hundreds starting around 3000

I'm not an asshole...I just type that way

So the S3 cams or 92" Cams with advance gears sounds like the way to go along with the S&S air cleaner. How hard are the cams to install on these bikes? Is there any applications for laptops you can download which enables a person to flash his own software?

You are at the mercy of the dealer for the reflash. Cams are explained in the manual, look that over first to determine if it's in your skill level.
