Default starter relay solenoid... any generic or other cheaper interchangeable options?

Local dealer wants $70 for solenoid. Seems way high. I found some online and on eBay for $15-$20. Any chance that it can be replaced with one from another brand of bike or boat or something? Or any big auto parts chains have one that will work?

If there $10 or $15 they would be used I bet. Look on amazon and see what they have. Ford had a solenoid back a few years ago but it would not be plug and play.
Take yours to NAPA and see what they can tell you

I bit the bullet and ordered one on eBay. Says it is new. $15 and free shipping. Item number 261308413807.

Hi Djfrank, I read your other posts about your starting problem.
Have you actually tested the solenoid?
If you put 12 volts across the little wires on the black connector and the starter starts turning, then there is nothing wrong with the solenoid.
I don't want to start a whole new topic, I was just wondering if you tested it.
