Electrical issues, Check Engine Light
last week my brother took out my Victory. The battery was the original battery. The bike died on him, he got the battery replaced it started and ran for a few miles then died again. He jumped it (the car was running, which i found out is a BIG NO NO) and it ran for a little bit and died again. (he did this 2 or 3 times till he got it home).
I fully charged the battery. Without it connected to the bike it measured 12.9 volts. I connected it to the bike and the bike starts up fine but the check engine light stays on. I let it run for a little bit and shut it off and disconnected the battery and it measured around 12.6 volts. I am guessing it is a bad stator or regulator. Anyone have any similar problems and can they help me figure out what the problem is?
If it is the stator, flywheel, or regulator, is this something that i can replace easily or do i need to take it into a shop?
