Well, I can tell you the Hammer drag MAP (not S&S) on my bike was WAY too rich. Even with the cams and Ness intake. Honestly, do what Kevin tells you. He's forgot more about Victorys than other Victory dealer techs know.

2007 Hammer, 260 Metz, Shotgun exhaust, S3 cams, LED hidden turn signals, HID Hi/lo headlights, a few Ness accessories, S&S intake, PC3, and dyno tune.

The issue between the '05 and '07 maps (either Victory or S&S) is that the '05 maps were written for no catalytic converters in the pipes, while the '07 maps were written with the cats in mind. So.... long story short, if your catalytic converters happen to have fallen out (there are threads on this), then the best map is the '05 S&S stage map, either 54-0120 or 54-0121. The dealer can apply any of the S&S maps. They either don't know that, or they are trying to toe some sort of EPA line. The problem with that is, that once you modify with aftermarket pipes, air cleaner, and change the map, you are already treading into "off road use" territory anyway, so it doesn't matter at that point. The second dealer that doesn't know how to do S&S maps may not have applied for their S&S certification, and they may not have the tuner software they would need to do the map calibration/upload.

What you need to do is talk to the tech himself, explain that your catalytic converters fell out, and that the only appropriate map is now the '05. If you plan on leaving the cats in, then you should go with the '07 map.

Are you sure that the '07's have cats? I was under the impression that '08 and up bikes got the cats as well as the o2 sensors. But up through '07, no cats or o2's.

Cats were actually introduced into the headpipes of the '06's and newer. Yes, I'm sure. The ONLY 100" maps that were written for pipes without cats were the stage maps for the 05 Hammer. That is the only 100" open loop motor that Victory set up without catalytic converters, and that is why the '05 Hammer maps are the most desirable. But, they only work if you remove your catalytic converters from the head pipes, or if they are after market full replacement exhaust, pull the cats from the baffles. Otherwise, you will choke up your cats with the richer fueling of the 05 map. The 06 and newer maps all have leaner settings and lean cut out to help keep the cats clean of carbon deposits.

i assume that when the pipes were changed to swept pipes that there would be no cats?I know there is no O2 sensors as the holes in the pipes have a plug
