Default AFR+ - Narrowband Feedback?

So, doing my due diligence and researching AFR+ for a possible purchase. However, according to their webpage http://www.afrplus.com/viewAFRbyOEM.asp?manid=12 it shows:

712014 - Polaris Victory - All Models 2008-2014
712018 - Polaris Victory - All Models, Narrowband Feedback 2008-2014

Is anyone aware of the differences between those? I have yet to call someone and ask, I just wanted to know if someone knows...

I do not know. I've gotten mine from Lloydz, and there were no options to worry about.

On AFR+'s website, the narrowband feedback one has the word "recommended" next to it. I don't know why it's recommended though. I thought the great thing about the AFR+ was that it used a wideband O sensor. I suppose it's easier to install and you end up using the stock, narrowband O sensors. The site says this about the narrowband model: "This AFR+ system uses the factory narrowband O2 system to trim to desired AFR values. The factory O2 sensor connections are plugged into the DP wideband controller."

I will testify that removing the stock O sensor was the most difficult part of the whole install. I scraped my fingers on the engine fins (left some flesh on the motor) and got mentally defeated a few times before I finally succeeded. I was using the wrong tool though, a rather short wrench. A longer one would have made the job a lot easier. Anyhow, maybe customers complained about this (believe me, some of us will complain about anything and everything) and the manufacturer decided to recommend the easy way out so they hear less whining and complaining. Well, I don't know, but that's my theory.

The one with the feed back comes with the O2 sensor. IIRC For some reason I thought the sensor that came with the unit is wide band. I don't remember multiple units though, but knew what I was looking for when ordering.
Best bet, call them. They seem straight forward and are willing to help with everything from a decision to tech and set up. MHO their starting numbers are a bit rich, but some other well known and respected folks like fuel as well.
FWIW, when I installed and set mine up, it has never been touched. Probably could tweak it some, but it is returning 45 MPG, the engine is much cooler, and the plugs look much better. It seems to have more giddyup as well, but nothing on paper to prove it. Of course that was the main draw of the unit, no dyno needed. Might be fun to see one though.

Broggy , go to the dynojet website , they have this same thing that plugs directly into , and works in conjunction with the PCV . It looks like a nice piece , you mentioned you were getting a PCV anyway .... Check it out !

Are you referring to the Wide Band 2? That thing is almost $300 per DJ's website. If I were to get an AFR+, it comes with the gauge for about $325, then I don't need a PCV. Since I don't normally wring the hell out of my bike, I'm beginning to wonder if I need to spend that much cash on the PCV and tune in the first place. If I can get an AFR+, install it myself, and tune it myself, more money for other goodies!

Default Afr+

When I applied for the military discount, I told them "Dobeck" about my bike. And they gave me a $75 discount and recommend the first model #712014. It came with the wide band Bosch sensor that replaced the stock front narrow band O2 sensor. Took about 1.5 hours to install the whole thing.

#712014 uses closed loop on WOT. I believe the other model number uses open loop.

Highly recommend this product, very well made, simple to understand and install. Best of all it made a big improvement in my bikes performance. Still tuning but getting it close.
