Question Cobra FI2000AT with the Lloydz wheel

alright just a quick question and I know im gonna get slammed for going with the cobra but at this price oh well. I have read on here that when you put the PCV on you have to pull some timing out if youíre running the Lloydz wheel. Do you have to reset the wheel if you run the FI2000 cobra with AT or is there some way to get in to the tuner and pull timing? is it even necessary to pull timing if you run the cobra? I know its kind of a dumb question, but I was always told the only stupid question is the one you donít ask. just really dont want to detonate my bike.

also on a completely unrelated topic what other mods would i need to lay the smack down on a 2012 screaming eagle stage 3, Ultra Classic HD with a 103. he wont tell me what all is done to the bike other than screaming eagle everything and stage 3 cams (that for some reason sound stock), and so far i cant get him to run me because with mine being mostly stock he doesn't want to "embarrass" me. personally i think i should be able to get him or at least real close now as the last ride we took, when he took off with a road king from about a 50 mph roll, i dropped a gear, laid on the throttle and was reeling them in quick. i didn't buy this bike to race, but after listening to it for a while........well you kinda get tired of hearing it.

Are you talking about a PowrPro? There is no "A/T" anything on Cobra's website.

You misunderstood what you read about the PC-V and timing. The Cobra PowrPro has no provision for timing changes.

With a PCV, you would only take away timing if any timing was added in the first place. They don't come with timing added, unless there was a map installed that had timing added into the cells. With the PCV, timing is only effective above 2500 rpm whereas with the Lloydz wheel, the timing is effective throughout all rpm's. Some folks with the timing wheel installed, will also play with the timing adjustments on the PCV at certain rpm ranges. I would think that the majority, myself included, will only adjust the timing using the wheel and leave all the timing cells on the PCV zeroed.

I could be wrong but I don't believe that the Cobra has any timing adjustments available and I doubt very much that any would have been added in the firmware so I think that you can add the wheel without any worries! If anyone knows something different about the Cobra unit, please correct me.

Cheers

come hang around my bro in laws family. if you didn't spend 40k on a MoCo you got a shiny pile of crap. from what he says, he had them "do everything", and he has a small fortune in it. however when i listen to it, it sounds like a stock motor. the cams have no more lobe to them than my brothers do in his road king thats bone stock. we were on a little ride to the coast and and he started playing with my bro n law. i was in the back of the pack and when he hit his, i dropped down a gear and pulled on it. we only pulled up from about 50-80 but i was gaining ground quick, and carrying my 6'2" wife with me (thats why i let out right before 80). i honestly think i can take him right now, but he said that he wont even try and run a mostly stock bike. i think he's just worried that im gonna beat him with a stock bike, so he's wanting the excuse that they are both modified. also im pretty sure that when we were all parked at the restaurant and people are walking around his bike to look at mine may have pissed him off a bit. i know its childish but oh well. trying to save my pennies because im willing to bet he's gonna wanna throw cash down and want to run for money just to try and back me down. its about to aggravate me to the point of a 401k loan and just send the bike to the Vic shop and when they say "what you want" answer with yes.

Howard,

Save the money that you want to spend on the Cobra and just spend @ 2G total for cams, filter, PCV and tune. If you don't have a good Dyno tuner near you, KevinX gets good results with the AFR+ or VFC3. If you want power, get power. If all you want is to make your engine have better manners, get a fuel controller.

well for $200 i am gettin the fuel controller. one day i will be riding either to KevinX or the Vic shop and get a good set of cams and a tune, but until my wife will let me dump $2k on my bike and not beat me (you did see the part in the above post where shes 6'2" right) to death with whatever is handy, ill just stick to what i can get a little at a time. and now you can make fun of me for being afraid of my wife, but all im gonna say is YOU come try it. dont mind me, ill be sitting in the corner drinking whiskey watching

Default Cobra

Howard, +4 is what I ran with the Cobra, you will be fine.

As for running the SE 103, it's not a power issue you will be facing, it's gearing. I ran with a guy that had the SE 103 Ultra Limited and I could not stay with him from start to about 50. His gearing kicked me. However, once I finished at Lloydz he could not pull me like that, but the first couple gears he would eat me up still becasue of gearing and I had him BIG on HP and TQ. But once we got to third, OR if we rolled on from 3rd he could not touch me. From a stand still, I would say his gearing will kick your butt for a little while at least. But that is just from my dealings with the SE 103.
