Default Hello from NC. Need S&S help.

Hello everyone.

I purchased a 2011 vegas 8-ball last summer. Even though this is my first post (other than the 3 to get me out of the intro section), I have used this site multiple times for information and it has been a great help. So thank you for that.

I now have a question that searching has not provided an answer for. I have just purchased the RPW Big Slash exhaust and the S&S intake. I will be installing them both this weekend. I purchased the intake with the calibration card and I was planning to have my local dealer do the remap. I contacted S&S to see which map they recommended for my particular application, only to find out that they do not recommend any of their maps for the pipes I bought. The only answer they gave was that I should purchase a power commander.

So, has anyone installed any of the RPW 2-1 pipes with any of the S&S remaps? Is there one that will work? Or did I waste the extra money to get the calibration card?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Default It's OK

I have adjusted the baffling from my vic 2 to 1 to be high flowing. with the vic stage 1 performance download. I was getting a lot of pop on decel with vented airbox. When i S&Sed my vegas i got the calibration card also. But after test driving there was no need to reflash. I read here somewhere that the S&S download is one of the best without buying the programmer.

Welcome from a neighbor. I live in Skybrook which is about 5 miles from Concord Mills mall. A friend and neighbor rides an '07 Hammer that he has done about everything humanly possible to it. Another buddy of mine rides an '09 Vision and lives in Harrisburg. One of these days we need to ride or at least meet at the bike nights.

browneye, thanks for the information. I have read that the S&S maps work well. I am installing this weekend and will be having the local dealer do the S&S 2-1 download one day next week. I will let everyone know how it turns out. I had it ran on a dyno yesterday to get some base numbers and I am going to have it ran again next week to check the A/F mixture and also see any performance gains that I get.

ndabunka, I have see a few vics around. I would meet up an ride for sure. We also head out to quakersteak occasionally for bike nights. Anytime you guys go, shoot me a message and I will see what I can do.

I am doing the install myself but I am having RideNow do the download. I was actually a little disappointed when I went there to talk to them about the S&S intake. The parts guy had very little knowledge of the part or the install. The service guy on the other hand was very helpful and seemed to have done it a few times before.

... and yea, it would be awesome to meet and ride with some fellow vic owners.
