Default Passenger backrest

I'm looking at putting a passenger backrest on my 04 vegas. I have the touring passenger seat on the back and it has holes on the back edge that I think part of the backrest mounts to. My question is, will the kingpin backrest fit? I like the kingpin part better because it's taller. I think the part number for the kingpin is 2683426 and the one for the vegas is 2683533. When I look at the picture of the parts they look the same other than the height and shape of the pad. I know my passenger seat has the four screw mounting holes on the bottom and the two on the back edge will pickup the other two. I just don't know about the spacing of the holes. Anyone have either of these?

Thanks

Pretty sure what you're talking about. My used 04 Vegas came with the passenger seat with that small back rest, and I upgraded to the wider passenger seat and taller back rest. As far as I know, kingpin and vegas seats and similar parts are pretty interchangeable. For example I bought a chrome rack that replaces the rear seat, and it fits either the vegas or kingpin, for when the wife doesn't ride with me.

When I get home tonite I'll measure cause I've got both off the bike right now. I'd sell the small seat with the shorter back if interested. Let me know.

BTW- That taller back really changes the look- for the worse in my mind- really messes with the lines of the bike. My wife finds it alot more comfortable when riding, but I hated the looks of it, which is why I have the chrome rack on for every day riding. I can send pictures or post em if interested.

Good luck!

Took a look a the 2 seats, and like in the other thread, it should work, they look identical where they join to the the seat. If you want the smaller back I'm sure we can work out a reasonable price, but I'd like to keep the seat and back together, just cause I don't need either any more. How's $100, plus shipping (reasonable prices canada to US)

Can send pics if you want, almost brand new, no scuffs, marks, or tears.

Let me know

Thanks Itchy.

Please post it into the thread so others may see. I know that's how I eventually found one that worked for me on my Jackpot because in the catalogs and on walls at the store you just can't picture if it'll be "right" on your own.

2014 Cross Country (Two-Tone Suede Supersteel & Black) Chrome D&D exhaust, Power Commander V, Lloydz air intake, Klockwerks tinted flare windshield.

Default Couple more

Should give you a better idea what they'll look like on the bike. You should be able to see why though it's functional- not crazy bout the look!

Thanks for the pics Itchy. I see what you mean about the tall one. Will the short one fit on the touring seat? I think I'm leaning in that direction but i want to keep my touring seat.
Thanks
