Default saddlebag question

a question for my brothers of the cruiser... have any of you installed non-victory saddlebags on your bikes, and if so what kind and how do they look? I'm on my second set of bags now, and I'm very picky about how my bike lines flow. I just got some Leatherlyke hard bags, but they mount so flippin far off the fenders it looks like my bike is going to take flight. Pics would be great too. Thanks everyone.

Are you saying you want to stay with the leather? Reason I ask is I have seen a cruiser with 03 hard bags as well as and 03 with HD style bags modified and both looked tight. But if you dont hard bags it doesnt matter.. lol..

I love hard bags, but my paint is a true "one off" job... no way to match it. I suppose I could do a satin black like the powder coat I've been doing on the trim, but I'm thinking more of leather or hard backed leather. Just curious what others have found in the non victory area.
