First, thanks for your help.
I replaced the battery the end of last year, and have used a tender when we had a stretch of cold or bad weather. Here in Ca. I usually get to ride at least once a week, even in winter. All the connections are clean and tight, ( why do I start thinking about women when I say that?
) I even put a little blue loktight to keep them tight.
I bought the bike in 2012, with 10K on it. I cleaned the throttle bodies, after reading about that on here. The bike now has 20K on it.
I'm going to try disconnecting the negative, and check where it connects to the frame.
I did find something interesting in my service manual, on page 5.26, under 'sensor diagnostics. It covers what happens in the event of a sensor failure or a sensor reading outside the normal range and how a "pre- programed" value is substituted until the the sensor reading returns to the normal range.
The last sentence reads,"The rider may not notice a change in vehicle performance". That sounds like what I'm experiencing.
I'll get it figured out, and post what was wrong.
Again, thanks. Keep it between the ditches.
