Default V92C Standard vs Special Edition?

So I've been looking at the different types of the V92C, but I can't seem to find any information on the 2000 special edition. Whats the difference between the standard V92C and the Special Edition?

I have read both of those articles before. I'm still unsure as to what exactly I have. This is my bike:

Does this look like the Deluxe (Special) Edition?

The 2000 SE's were put together out of leftover '99 parts. They have spoked wheels and as I recall they only came in two colors, and as legend has it, only 500 of each were made. As I recall they were either solid black or red, not two tone, and had gold pin striping. they shared all the 99's parts and problem areas. They might have come standard with a windshield & passenger back rest as they were Victory's first try at what later became the "deluxe" edition V92's. That's what I remember off the top of my head-I'd have to dig into my Vic archives at home for more info.

Any luck? From what I've seen, I have the frame mounted fuel pump/filter, and what looks like the 99 style intake with the cone filter. Some things match with the 99 shop manual, but some things are different. Also, for some reason when i run the VIN number through Victory's site it says its an SC? It doesn't have the 2 into 1 exhaust so I'm kinda lost as to what exactly I have.

I retrieved my 2000 Victory Motorcycles Accessories & Clothing catalog from the archives and the only two models listed are the V92C & V92SC. Your bike certainly looks more like a C/SE with the spokes, full fenders, chrome engine, floorboards, etc. than a SC that would have a blacked out krinkle finish motor, dual front discs, 17" wheels, etc. It could possibly be a Frankenbike with a SC frame, loks like its been painted too. The "Special Editions" must have been something the factory came up with to clear out the parts bins and offered them through the dealers-I don't ever remember seeing one at any dealers around here but had seen SE's before & they were pretty bikes.

That's an SE with different pinstriping and aftermarket hard bags.

It is not an SC.

So I just pulled the engine number off my bike and it reads MCVT1507D-02. Looking at the 99 service manual, the engine ends in -01. Is the -02 the marking for the '00 engine or something else?

Just trying to nail down if my engines been replaced or not

Engine numbers won't tell you much-the motors are made in Oceola, numbered & put in a truck bound for Spirit Lake where they're pulled out in the reverse order they were loaded and placed randomly into frames-there's no matching numbers or anything like that with Victory. I did find the Special Editions listed on the Polaris website-if you put in VIC & 2000 it will show a separate parts list that will let you know what parts are interchangeable with what. http://parts.polarisind.com/Browse/Browse.asp
