Default need clutch cable for V92C

The end of clutch cable on my 2001 V92C popped off and I guess I will have to replace the cable. Which cable is the best and most affordable? Also I purchased the bike preowned and the title says V92C, so what specific name applies? Is that a V92 Custom or something else? I tried to order the clutch cable and the company asked for that.

Dann's right on Barnett and CR is making a good point for later down the road. I ensure to inspect and lube with teflon spray lube every oil change. When replacing it, check for any burring at the pivot point in the clutch handle and maybe do a little filing if needed. After my intial wake up call and adding this to preventative maintenance, have not had any issues. Also, WIKI has a good write up on Vic and it's history. Good read and keeps the early years straight. Like the initial V92 was called the HAMMER... Sounds friggin badass compare to Freedom.. hehehehe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victory_Motorcycles

Just went through this, and I bought the SAV-UR-Ride cable, easy to install and is working great. Much cheaper than a new cable. If you look at the end of the thread I linked to, ByteN2it listed a replacement cable stop you can also buy. If you can get a hold of the current cable and can still adjust it I guess that would be cheaper still.

Right there with ya... Just popped mine with 13,7xx on the clock. not sure if original, but I suspect it is.

Ordered Barnett from the "Doctor". May order the end piece if it looks like it will reach when I dis-assemble, and keep as spare if possible.

And Yeah, "Lube the ends" will be part of oil change procedure.

check for sharp edges or burring inside the clutch handle valley where the cable meets the end. I have also had good luck using white lithium grease, loosening my handle and placing a shot up in there during my oil changes. Not so much as a bur in over 14K and good smooth handle pull too. Food for thought.

Same here... save ur ride saved my ride (Well... a day late and a dollar short but it worked great)

Venhill makes a $200 kit with every end and cable connection, sleeves and outer shell to make any type of cable for a handlebar replacement.

Seriously considering getting one because no one makes cables around here.
