Question 2000 V92sc broken shift shaft

I just picked up a 2000 V92SC. It onlt has 3000 miles on it. I have been looking around to find a service manual. The dealer wants $154.00 for one. Does anybody know where I might find one a bit cheaper. The shift shaft is broken off at the primary cover. I am looking for a manual to see if I might be able to fix it myself. The dealer wants $500.00 to install a new shift shaft. Can any body help?

Yes, I would like to know this too. I am looking at an 07 Vegas, accident damaged with a broken shaft. The V92 manual downloaded from this site [thanks Diamond] is a bit of help for this, but being a different model, I'm not sure. It looks like only a job thru the primary case and I found a shift linkage kit on ebay for $130.

Go to the website above and register (it's free). Once you do so, you can download an electronic version of the manual. Let me know if you have difficulty navigating to the page once you register.

I'm not sure where to get a service manual, but you can find all of your bikes parts along with an exploded assembly picture.
