Default 99 V92C new owner - elec upgrade?

I just bought this bike from cousin who has owned it since '02 - he did the tranny recall in '04 - he has had no elec issues at all except for last summer replaced the voltage reg. I'm considering mounting a couple of handlebar speakers and have seen discussion re upgrading to a 38 amp system - is this something I should pursue - any info would be helpful - thnx!

It is about four hours work for someone who is mechanically inclined. A friend of mine and I did mine. Cost $500.00. The bike runs better, lights don't dim when I use the lightbar, and it don't have to leave it on my charger 24/7 anymore. You can find directions on this forum, if you can't I have them and could e-mail them to you. Best upgrade I have done.

Did this low voltage issue only affect the '99 bikes or also the later ones? Should I need to worry about it for a bike in the '03 - '05 range?

Only the early bikes from 99-2000 were affected

Ok, thanks, Ray.

Got my eye on an '03 TC Deluxe I found on Craig's List. May go take a look today or tomorrow.
