Default No More TC Luggage racks. Here's an alternative

We all know there are no more TC Luggage racks out there at dealers. Here's an alternative. Back in the 80's KG Engineering used to sell luggage racks and back rests for UJM's. There was one item that was an add on luggage rack for their back rest. It bolted to the back rest with 4 1/4 inch bolts with chrome cap nuts. With 4 small spacers, it easily bolts to the existing V92TC back rest after drilling 4 1/4 inch holes. I know the capacity of this arrangement is limited. And you'll need to keep an eye on the health of the OEM back rest for any integrity issues with the mounting tabs. But it's a relatively good looking fix. These racks pop up on Ebay somewhat regularly and I'm sure the cycle salvage yards were full of them at one time.

I have begun to feel a little nervous about my purchase. I have owned bikes older than I am (43) and could buy parts at the local dealer or dozens of online outlets for both Import and Domestic bikes but it seems like Victory pretty much throws out an old model (If you can call a bike they just stopped producing 5 years ago old) and so do the after market dealers.

Even the online forums classify these bikes as vintage and place them in an "other" category.

Has anyone had any real problems getting parts, specifically internal parts to keep the bikes running?

I believe you are fine with internal parts, but getting accessories is a challange

Default V92TC Rear Rack Still Available

FYI, the rear chrome racks are still available. I just ordered one for my V92TC from HondaEastToledo.com for $139.99. The Polaris part number is 2874780. They offer a "VictoryForum" discount that brought it down to $132.99 and it was free shipping! (I found their info from another thread on this forum) They were quite helpful looking up other Victory parts for me too and seemed to be able to get most of the OEM Victory parts available. I got the rack quick and it bolted right on. Looks great! I forgot to take pictures but will try to add some soon.

Thanks for the post. Just ordered one. $125.99 and had to pay Ohio tax and $12 shipping. Good find.

Still available through purepolaris.com, just search for the part #, it's $199.95 + shipping. I found almost everything I wanted for my '92 V92C over the years languishing in a bin at Polaris, at an "original" Victory dealer, in the inventory of defunct Victory dealers, on Craigslist or Ebay. The stuff is still out there, you just have to sniff around. Just picked up an '02 TC Deluxe with 8k miles like new dirt cheap so I'll be sniffing some more.

Some owners panic and sell at crazy low prices, bad for Victory resale numbers but great for someone looking for a solid backup ride cheap.

You are correct, they are now NLA. There is a shop in Belle Plaine, MN - Frontline Finish Custom Creations that produces custom Victory racks, sissy bars, handlebars, etc for a reasonable price that can be black or chrome, larger or smaller. Contact Pat at 952-217-7955

If I hadn't found a factory rack at a good price I'd have gone to them. If they don't have a template for a TC tell them to contact me and they can use mine for measurements, I'm not too far from them. Good luck in your search.

Here's a pick of a rack they made for a friend's KP
