Default 300 tyre on Jackpot

G'day, I've got a Ness Jackpot with a 280mm tyre on the back. The original owner put on the 10.5 rim and other mods. (not sure what they were)

As my tyre is nearly worn out Im thinking of replacing it with a Metzler 300mm tyre. I know a 10.5 rim will take the actual tyre but I am unsure whether the larger tyre will rub against the guard etc.

I figure the 300 would look cool and wouldnt affect the handling much more than the 280, which is by the way pretty ordinary. I guess its the price you pay for "The Look",

Has anyone got a 300 on their bike?

I noticed no one responded to your message. If you do a search you should be able to find your answer. I did a search with just 300 in the space.

Daredevil he has a 10.5 not 8.5. 10.5 is perfect for 300, however you need extra mods including cutting into swing arm to allow for tyre rub. I'd stick with the 280. I have 10.5 and requested shop to put on a 300,but the official dealer prctice from Victory is they wont do them now, here anyway, as it affects the integrity of the bike structure.

I think people that run the 300 also run a 10inch rim,not the 10 1/2 . the 280 on a 10 1/2 vs the 300 on a 10 is only about 3/4 of an inch diff.

I run a 280 on a 8.5 wheel so a 300 should not be a problem on a 10 or 10.5! Some little mods that u can do yourself I think. Mine is a Vegas with some mods I did.

Metzler 280 is not nearly as big as a Dunlop or Avon 280

I'm not an asshole...I just type that way

I know when I bought my 10 1/2 wheel from Witch Dr it showed it was for the 280. John said if you want the 300 tire you need to order the 10 inch wheel. The 300 on the 10 1/2 wil not fit. the tire will rub.

A 280 is 280mm it just depends on the wheel if it gets pulled out or pushed in on the sidewall. And since it's only about 5/8 of an inch between 300 or 280 u won't see it really!
