Default Recommend me a good sissy bar/backrest

Any comments or recommendations on the bar listed below or another brand that is effective: Sissybar backrest Hammer Jackpot Chrome Black Victory Only Motorcycle Custom Parts Accessories Aftermarket

My question is how much clearance is there between the bar's lower mounting plates and the fender to not contact the paint when a passenger is weighted against it. It attaches behind the chrome eyebrow on the fender and there isn't much clearance as it is, let alone adding a sissybar's mounting plate.

The photo shows a back leather or vinyl drape across the fender but I think that's just for attaching saddle bags since there are nearby support rods that further hold a bag. It's not to protect the fender paint purse'.

That looks okay but have you checked out Ginz Choppers sissy bars. Howabout something like this?

Or this?

Or even this with a luggage rack?

They aren't cheap but they are well made and made to order. Worth a look either way.

This pic, taken from the Ginz webpage- this is more the look I have in mind for my bike except in chrome not black.
QUESTION: are those quick disconnect mounts that allow the bar/pad combo to be easily removed? I like the fact that the mounting plates appear to be behind the chromed fender eyebrow for a clean look. I may have to phone the company for answers to my specific questions.

If it's like mine from Ginz; there are bolts at the bottom holding the sissy bar on. Definitely want to use some thread locker on them. If you can access those bolts from below without taking off the chrome strut covers then they would be quick release. Even if you did have to remove the 4 bolts holding the covers on first; it would still be a quick job to remove the sissy bar. Here's mine.

I bought this exact bar for a 99' Harley FLHT I had. Years later, just last year, Ginz made a quick release bracket for my XC which this bar fit and ironically the bar they made to fit it; didn't so I sent that bar back and paid for the brackets. If I had bought this bar for this XC, with all the angular styling, I would have gotten this bar to fit in with the lines.

I know that A. Ness has a short backrest that apparently bolts to the fender just behind the factory seat but I haven't seen that avail online. I saw it on a 2007 Jackpot at the dealer and it was low profile & clean looking. I'm trying to stick to that approach if I can. After looking closer on the one at Victoryonly.com I noticed the brackets mount outside the fender eyebrows and that looks clunky- yeech! Thanks for your replies so far.
