Default fuel controller options for lean conditions after cal. card

So I now have it from the tech that my bike is still lean even after the calibration card was installed.

I would prefer to use a simple plug and play style that I can download a map and use the bike without getting a dyno tune or spending the value of the bike in adding the new system...

current setup
-rpw big slash pipes
-k/n air filter
-hammer drag map calibration card

any suggestions for a model I can install myself? or a unit that has a solid level of communication with the technicians for installation?

I can be handy with the tools, but I don't wanna risk another trip to the dealer to install something I can do myself

what bike are you talking about. I see you have 2 listed

what makes you think its lean. Has the dealer hooked it up to their digital wrench.

What are you getting for gas mileage are you getting.
Popping or backfire does not mean its lean. Nor does heat coming off motor

I think the reason these threads appear so frequently--at least now--is because there is truly an intimidating number of threads on the topic. Many of which wander a ways off course (we do tend to do that around here) and provide no definitive answer.

I myself have been wondering what makes a VFCIII different from the other Dobeck-style tuners like Wiseco and EJK, as they're a bit less expensive.

I'm getting into the market for some performance mods myself, and I've searched till my eyeballs hurt, but sometimes it's hard to find the answer you're looking for with so much material on the subject.

Decide what's important. I like a loooong stretch of highway or rural back roads so the basics air in air out simple tuner fit my needs. I ride the bike like an old man but have fun in the twisties but have never seen the point of flat out balls out beat the crap out of it, never been my style so I don't mod in that direction. Lots do and more power to them (or for them) I like the long haul not stop light to stop light so my bike reflects that.

I am looking to apply this to my 2007 jackpot.

I am well aware of the search function, but my riding style is geared more to cruising and I want smooth usable power for just riding it like a cruiser... not a sportbike or muscle bike.

-the Power commander series is expensive and has issues with erratic idle (according to the searches on the forum)
-the vfc seems a good option with a few issues with tuning (according to search)
-the Lloyd's controller is less expensive than the PC, but has some similar issues (search)

with so many options and almost no resources in my area I'm stuck with "dealing" with the sub-par service from the only dealership in the area with the digital wrench system (and the required cables) or doing it myself.

Your bike requires a PCIII or VFCII correct? Anything older than 2008... Both are good units and inexpensive.

Either bike would use a PC-III

The VFC-III (Victory fuel controller, generation 3):
This is a simple add-fuel-only controller. Push-button tuning.

PC-III: (Power Commander, 3rd generation)
This will add fuel or remove fuel at 9 throttle positions and every 250 rpm at each of those throttle positons, and it will tune each cylinder individually. Dyno tune is pretty much a must.

If you are not planning to make additional performance modifications, and if you don't care about perfect tuning, get the VFC.
