I am trying to decide between the vegas and the hammer... I know there must be a few topics on here that are similar...but if I'm spending another $15,000$... I want to make the right decision.

I am not going to lie, the vegas fits me better... because I am 5'6 but I do not like the look of skinny tires... and our roads are ROUGH here... so the front tire is a serious concern... but again, the seat, height and controls are more comfortable.

I love the look of the hammer, the height is not too bad.... but I would get a 2" pushback handlebar... closer feet controls. I am also considering the stage 1 upgrade.... unless you guys think aftermarket is the way to go?

My current stryker has a fatter front tire and an avon cobra 240 right now... so handling is not the concern...

I keep looking at them at the shop, but mentally I cannot see me getting the Vegas.... Even though conventional wisdom suggests so

bad roads? you must be in south louisiana.
you could get a vegas jackpot, then change the front rim to what the highball, or judge has.
on my vegas, I'd love to get the apes from the highball, and the mag wheels from the judge. I just don't want any damn spokes.
.
the judge and highball both have 16" rims and bigger fatter tires than the vegas' 21" front skinny tire.
but..... those judge rims aren't even close to cheap.

Roads in Vermont are not known for their smoothness. Never had any problems with my Vegas.

Bought the hammer last Friday! So far I installed foot pegs, arlen Ness mirrors and grips and a bandit seat...

Stage 1 will be installed Friday

I'll post pics when all the upgrades are complete

you know, I think I forgot to mention in my classified ad that I have a set of chrome stage 1 mufflers for a stock exhaust system. they fit an 07 vegas, so if they're compatible and you haven't bought them yet, I'd sell you mine for half price.
I also have the stock pipes with the chrome heat shield.

oh yeah, and congrats on the hammer! my buddy wants one, too.
