Default need help wife is not happy with passenger seat

I just picked up a 05 vegas 8 ball for a good price. I didn't tell the wife i got it I just brought it home. She was mad but she likes how it looks. I have had the bike less than a week and put about 300 miles and my seat is ok for about a hour maybe a little more. Last night I took her for a ride and after 20 min she was crying becuase the passenger seat is so bad. She is not a picky person she liked the passenger seat on my Kawasaki Z1000. The bike currently has the stock seat with the passenger pad, pegs and no back rest. I was looking at the Mustang and corbin seats. I want to know what is the best for the passenger? What are my options? What do you have? Backrest or sissy bar?

Help me Please so I can get off the couch!

I'm gonna get preachy with you, marinefireboy, but that's what we great-grandfathers are for. Your first, and biggest, mistake was not conferring with your wife about a significant expenditure. Marriage is like a small business run by two partners. When one of those partners spends wildly, that does not bode well with the other. My wife and I talk to each other about most any purchase over $20 and we ain't po' folk. Maybe that's why we're not poor. Secondly, you want your wife to passenger with you, yet you buy a bike with the pillion from hell - what did you expect? You wouldn't ride more than one block on that miserable perch. My suggestion would be to look up a seat customizer where the bike, you and your wife go and he makes a saddle appropriate for the two of you. In the meantime, the next time you go home, have some flowers in your hand and a big apology on your lips.

+1 what Ricz said.

Now he preached enough for the both of us so I'll throw options.

As Ric said look for a seat customizer, or purchase the Vic touring passenger seat part #2874598

Corbin and Mustang is your best bet if you don't want a custom seat for her BUT in your case I would do a custom.

Also you add a pro pad to the seat.

Ebay is your friend!

There is a guy around where i live that can take the seat apart shave the pad and put gel in the seat. He quoted me at 150 for the driver and 100 for the passenger. With the way she said it is uncomfertable i am not sure it is going to help. I am looking for a seat on ebay. I found a corbin but it is not a touring seat.

WOW that's expensive!! At least compared to my guy at Ride One. He did my passenger and drivers seats with new skin for $100.00

FYI have the gel pad put sandwiched between two layers of foam. If the gel is on the top you will have swamp ass in the heat! Gel is very hot compared to foam.

the vegas isnt a good bike for 2 people on a long trip.....that pad on the back i cant see being much use outside of a 10 min hop to the bar ..... could look at having a custom seat made, not sure where, and they do sell victory 2 up seats....i do not know anything about them though.....

If you really love your wife and are concerned for her comfort, sell this bike and get one appropriate for two up touring /riding. Show her you care more for her than looking cool. You're married, act like it.

I don't see how you can get a quote from Robert at Ride on and say he is someone near you when you live in Ohio and he is in California.

Now, if he quoted you that with S&H then I understand the cost also...he didn't gel my passenger seat.
