I'm gonna get preachy with you, marinefireboy, but that's what we great-grandfathers are for. Your first, and biggest, mistake was not conferring with your wife about a significant expenditure. Marriage is like a small business run by two partners. When one of those partners spends wildly, that does not bode well with the other. My wife and I talk to each other about most any purchase over $20 and we ain't po' folk. Maybe that's why we're not poor. Secondly, you want your wife to passenger with you, yet you buy a bike with the pillion from hell - what did you expect? You wouldn't ride more than one block on that miserable perch. My suggestion would be to look up a seat customizer where the bike, you and your wife go and he makes a saddle appropriate for the two of you. In the meantime, the next time you go home, have some flowers in your hand and a big apology on your lips.
