Default 2011 stock exhaust mod question

hi, I am new to the forums. Bought a 2011 vegas 8-ball last monday.
I absolutely love the bike but it is too quiet, Eventully would like to get some d&d slip ons but they don't make them in black yet. I have seen some people on here that have drilled the endplates on the stock exhaust with good results but they were on older models. So my question is would this hurt anything on a 2011 since it is a closed loop bike until I can get something better

Did you try it? Let me know if you figured it out? I just bought one and don't have the cash for pipes yet.....

Actually I did, I just drilled 6 half inch holes in the endplate around the large hole. Its not as loud as I would like but at least you can hear me coming now. I also unplugged the O2 sensors last week which got rid of all of my popping issues while idling. There is a video on youtube of a bike that has drilled endplates so you can tell how it sounds, just type in victory exhaust mod. His is on a kingpin

I did this mod to my 2011 kingpin 8 ball. I drilled 6, 1/2 holes in the end cap and it actually sounds pretty good. It is pretty loud and deep I was going to get a new exhaust but I think I will keep for a while. It does seem to be getting louder as the miles add up. I have 1100 on my bike so far. This bike is awesome!

I put the Supertrapp Fatshots on my 09 8 ball. They have the end caps that bolt on to change the sound. Didnt like the looks or sound with the caps on so I just left them off. Its kinda loud but nothing like straight pipes would be. Has a deep rumble and when you get on the throttle it will really bark. Noticable power differance also. The slip ons are alot shorter than stock pipes which I really like. Didnt want to drill mine because once drilled, not many options to change it if you dont like it. I can always add the caps if I want somthing different on these.

Pretty sweet! Yeah I was considering the supertrapp black slip ons just like that, looks great. I will probably switch to those soon. Maybe do intake and fuel controller first. What you guys think? Great post
