Default Corbin or Mustang

title says it. any insight is appriciated. which is more comfortable, fits the lines of the bike better, anything, and the price difference is irrelevant

You really need to try them both. The design philosophy is totally different.
Corbin uses a very stiff platform that could easily be described as hard. They also tend to be on the thin side, and match the contour of many bikes better.
Mustang is more a classic look saddle that uses a thicker, more pliable foam.

One thing for sure. Corbin people are Corbin people. Mustang people are Mustang people

i went with the mustang. it lifted me up a bit which i like because it fit me better without having the forward controls. i feel alot more in control at low speeds. the seat is way more comfortable than stock. and the passenger is almost 4' wider than stock. me and the wife can ride tank to tank with no comfort issues.
in my opinion i dont think it would look right without the saddle bags. its a big ax seat

Kevinx is right on the money on this one... Corbin is slimline style and a harder platform... Mustang is a wider softer platform for long distance cruising in comfort.

how do the backrests compare since that is the main reason for me to change seats. which is more comfortable and easier to just toss on for a longer ride and take back off once i get back home. also im a tall thin guy so would that affect seat selection much

i would say in the back rest department corbin has it.
i got the wide touring mustang and you use the stock back rest and bracket. i ended up making a different bracket that was 4 inches taller and 1" farther back.
if you want to be able to take off the back rest check out the options that kewl metal has with there quick disconnect luggage rack and adjustable back rest.
and as far as your height the lift of the mustang over stock will let your legs stretch a bit more and psg too

I have a corbin and have to say it is fantastic! I think it adds so much style to my kingpin 8ball. I got the black snake skin seat leather with black shark skin sides and it gives the bike a more upscale custom look. I thought the seat felt a little firm but it actually gives more support than a soft seat that compresses the longer you ride. I told corbin in the instructions that I like my seats alittle on plush side and gave them my weight and inseam like they asked for and my seat is perfect. Have not tried a mustang but I know that the stock seat would give me hot spots and I would start shifting around in the seat after about 20 minutes in the saddle but I got to say the corbin seat is a pure joy no discomfort at all, I can ride for hours. I would highly recommend the corbin because the high quality real leather design choices and comfort in my experience are fantastic. After a few miles the cobin breaks in and gets softer, but I thought it felt great right out the box. I am sold on corbin. Alittle long winded but I love this seat hope this review helps.

Funny. I was thinking the Mustang wins in the backrest hands down. Yes the passenger uses the Vic mount, but the drivers is WAY easier to install, and adjust with the Mustang

i have no experience with the corbin but those back rest looked pretty nice. i dont think mine can have a drivers back rest maybe it can but how would it hook up with the psg seat overlap.

but ive been known to think like nelly...... nelly thought cat sh!t was jelly.
